PBT EU launches Timed-Text hybrid platform NEXT-TT at IBC2018

Demonstrations feature European debut of NEXT-TT & EXEcutor™ Media Integrator

IBC Stand 9.LP35, IBC Show, The RAI, Amsterdam, 14 – 18 September 2018

IBC2018 sets the scene for the European premiere of new Timed-Text hybrid platform NEXT-TT powered by Profuz Digital from global systems integration specialists PlayBox Technology EU (PBT EU). PBT EU will also showcase the EXEcutor™ Media Integrator module, already adopted by major telecom operators. Demonstrations will take place at PBT EU’s dedicated Launch Pad 9.LP35 at the show, from 14 – 18 September in Amsterdam.

The complete NEXT-TT solution is comprised of two distinct elements that work together as a single, unified platform: LAPIS (Limitless Advanced Powerful and Intelligent System) with timed-text subtitling software application SubtitleNEXT. The fusion has resulted in new capabilities enabling extremely fast and efficient generation of managing timed-text, dubbing and localisation services of any type of content, or managing teams of translators, audiovisual professionals, and creative freelancers, providing an ultra-secure and super-fast private workspace, toolsets, and workflows for ensuring quality.

NEXT-TT has already attracted the attention of leading Hollywood studios and quickly gaining a reputation as a gamechanger in subtitling. This unique approach is designed to give users greater freedom of choice in how they work with desktop or cloud applications. SubtitleNEXT and LAPIS can also be used separately bringing the best of both worlds to subtitlers. (https://subtitlenext.com/product-line/platform/)

LAPIS is a central hub that brings disparate data services that media companies use under one roof. It manages complex processes, tasks, video, audio, text, user access, security, and safeguards confidential material. It has the ability to access and search data across many providers such as YouTube, Vimeo, stock image libraries, internal media asset storage systems and customer relationship data bases.

NEXT-TT is user-friendly, innovative, customisable, intuitive and affordable already adopted across various multimedia industries and is designed for both personal and professional use. It easily adapts to any settings, resolutions, and formats such as AR, MR, XR, VR, 8K, 4K, 2K, HD, SD, 3D, UHD across online video, TV, film, theatre, concerts, festivals, conferences and events. It can be applied throughout the entire video production process from concept to distribution.

PBT EU partnered with Italy’s IT Pros Subtitles® this year to create the first remote online course for translators to learn subtitling skills based on SubtitleNEXT. The initial training module, along with other brands, went ahead recently run by IT Pros’ most experienced subtitler Monica Paolillo who trained a group of translation professionals to master the software. In addition, the recent launch of a new website www.subtitlenext.com has been labelled as the “Home of Subtitlers” and a NEXTClub members community is growing around the product, with a new e-shop that opened in time for NAB earlier this year. https://shop.profuzdigital.com

PBT EU will also support the Languages & The Media 2018 Conference in Berlin in October with its flagship platform NEXT-TT logo proudly displayed as official Silver Sponsor product of the show, alongside STAR, Netflix and VSI.

PBT EU’s other product on show, the module-based EXEcutor™ Media Integrator introduces three new levels this year at IBC. The system serves as an essential addition to “Channel-In-A-Box” bundles, making it future-ready and adaptable for all production environments. It expands the “CiaB” concept beyond traditional channel origination, over to production and asset control environments, making it more accessible. It is easy to upgrade and is a future-proof solution that evolves and scales with growing requirements without losing data or history and hosts dedicated tools for CRM and project management. PBT EU’s GM, Vladimir Stanic will be on hand to share insights and expertise and says, “Our EXEcutor™ brand of products will be enriched by the enhanced EXEcutor™ Media Integrator, plus the premiere of several new server models. Our services can be tailor-made to create the best results to suit each individual case. We welcome visitors to the show to come and talk to us about how we can help. We have a reputation of being good listeners and customers expect a pleasant client journey. PBT EU‘s Launch Pad at IBC2018 is an excellent starting point.”

After just providing solutions to Videohouse, the largest production house in the Benelux region, PBT EU’s sales director Alexander Stoyanov comments, “2018 marks another year of massive penetration and expansion of diversified timed-text services followed by content and process management systems. Our main emphasis for this IBC combines both trends and all visitors can enjoy the European debut of the NEXT-TT hybrid platform, announced at NAB a few months ago.”

International channel Clubbing TV selected PBT EU to integrate interactive TV content in full HD for RosTelecom broadcasts and its Clubbing TV Russia localization

PBT EU nailed localization expectations required for Clubbing TV Russia

International channel Clubbing TV selected PlayBox Technology’s AirBox Neo from PBT EU to launch “Clubbing TV Russia” on interactive TV in HD. A twenty-four-hour lifestyle and dance music platform, the channel is now being broadcasted on RosTelecom with 25% of the playlist in the Russian language.

Clubbing TV produces stunning and energetic interactive content including live weekend broadcasts for key titles such as “Live DJ Set” and “Clubbing Experience”. These vibrant shows are produced within a multi-camera full HD production environment and recorded in the best festivals and concerts worldwide and at Clubbing TV’s Paris studio.

The localized Russian version of Clubbing TV originated following a strategic partnership with Russian production and sales agency Media4you, and covers several hours of locally produced weekly magazine, interview, and DJ set programs, popular with fans of electronic music and club events and appealing to a younger audience. Electronic music is the fastest growing music genre in the world, and its DJ artists and festivals are thriving in Russia, appealing to a lively audience and predominantly millennial generation.

Sales Director at PBT EU Alexander Stoyanov notes, “Interactive TV enables viewers of all ages and interests to find the content they want to watch. Furthermore, the multi-screen function means that content can be viewed simultaneously on different screens, without causing interference with others in the same household.

Our job at PBT EU was to ensure that the live feed was ingested and integrated into the actual daily playlist via PlayBox’ AirBox Neo, and then delivered to the viewers on time. The project is still progressing well across automation, back-up solutions and synchronisation tools. We are proud to enthusiastically support Clubbing TV in all their ventures as they continue to offer compelling and entertaining content for an exuberant crowd.

General Manager at Clubbing TV Nikolay Nachev explains further, “Our customers offer Clubbing TV to their subscribers, so we needed to guarantee that we could provide a solid and stable turnkey solution to over millions of potential Russian new subscribers.” Adding further, “This a tremendously important market for us, and we needed to feel confident that the final deliverables would be reliable and consistent, and at such short notice to meet high-pressured timescales we were up against.”

Stephane Schweitzer, Clubbing TV’s CEO and Founder goes on to confirm why PBT EU was chosen to broadcast their linear HD TV channel to RosTelecom in Russia, “PBT EU was the company that met our expectations by far, and they proved to be the most dependable and perfect choice for us. Their support team are highly professional, and we communicated with them daily throughout the migration and feed synchronisation across numerous servers in each territory. PBT EU really made it so easy to set up AirBox Neo and it’s extremely intuitive to manage. Integrational interfacing with a third-party scheduling system was a real technological challenge, which PBT EU helped us overcome with sheer professionalism and know-how. We were in good hands and this project stands out as being a great success thanks to the expertise of the brilliant PBT EU team.”

This is a very exciting time, with Clubbing TV’s portfolio now including over 1200 titles with 300 hours of HD, and already 100 hours of 4K content. They are now working on a similar set up for Clubbing TV India.

PlayBox Technology EU presents “SubtitleNext” at IBC2016

PBT EU provides innovative line-up incorporating everything a broadcaster needs

IBC Stand A02, Hall 5, IBC Show, The RAI, Amsterdam, 9 – 13 September 2016

PlayBox Technology EU (PBT EU) is delighted to present its software application suite –  SubtitleNext – for the first time at IBC. SubtitleNext is an advanced software platform for creation, management, burning, airing and conversion of subtitles, captions and other text services, for multimedia industries, including production, post-production, radio and TV, cinema, opera and theatre, commercials, entertainment, and any other genre where timed texts would be a requirement.

SubtitleNext

SubtitleNext has the capability to dramatically improve speed and efficiency, but also simplifies the processes throughout the entire work cycle. The software is suitable for both newcomers and industry professionals in highly demanding positions. SubtitleNext is a software system with a 25-year legacy behind it, in combination with the very latest trends, and expectations in the field. It also supports most of the historic and existing subtitling and media protocols, standards and formats, and is flexible enough to easily be extended with new options. The product line also includes several software licensing levels and options, ranging from entry level SubtitleNext Novice, right up to SubtitleNext Expert.

PBT EU also welcomes new technology partner and co-exhibitor ISID to IBC this year. A leading software manufacturer, ISID specialises in media solutions and develops popular media asset management (MAM) software ‘Videoma’. Covering the needs of professionals within broadcasting as well as education, corporations and even government security, the software allows users to organise, manage, process and edit all of their imported video, audio or image content via closed files, or captured through IP streams or video servers. The software is also able to incorporate leading innovative features and modules such as a speech-t0- text recognition engine, biometric analysis, audio fingerprinting, and practically any metadata retrieval system the customer may need.

In addition, PBT EU introduces strategic partner, Toronto-based software company Profuz Digital Inc. to IBC for the first time presenting LAPIS (Limitless Advanced Powerful and Intelligent System). LAPIS is the software hub which integrates information coming from MAMs, storage, news feeds, advertising agencies, accounting and CRM, and provides a central way of searching, collaborating, reporting, managing and tracking of all the information sources in a single environment. It also manages the outgoing information and the simultaneous publishing to multiple web destinations. It tirelessly handles and schedules the materials needed for the broadcasting servers and manages the internal/external tasks, projects and processes. Appealing to production houses, teleports and broadcasters, PBT EU chose to distribute LAPIS as it filled a void in broadcasting, in terms of efficiency, affordability and adaptability to the business needs of a wide spectrum of organisations. It helps to connect the dots within and outside an organisation with its user-friendly multi-purpose process designed to cleverly encapsulate, in a central hub, or substitute a myriad of other complex systems, such as MAMs, news, ERP, CRM, traffic, and acts as an efficient workflow management tool, enabling users to design, build and run flexible business procedures and operations.

LAPIS

At the same time, LAPIS is in synergy with PBT EU’s latest EXEcutor™ server line and enhances the offering by adding a new generation management layer on top. What makes LAPIS so powerful is its transferability and endless possibilities for customisation, helping to significantly reduce costs and overheads.

Also, very much in the spotlight at stand 5. A02 is PBT EU’s own-manufactured EXEcutor™ range of innovative broadcast servers combined with the EXEcutor™ Virtual Control Panel (EVCP). Created to meet the specific challenges that face broadcasters, production and post-production facilities, the EXEcutor™ Broadcast Servers provide for ingest, media management, titling, graphics, playout and scheduling, and can deliver a complete “TV channel-in-a-box” solution, or be configured to offer any combination of component services, using world-renowned software applications powering over 16,000 international broadcasters, with efficient, scalable and flexible production pipelines.
