IT Pros Subtitles® embraces NEXT-TT to Remote-Manage its expanding Localization Services

For immediate release – 16 March 2021, Perugia, Italy Specialist audiovisual translation firm IT Pros Subtitles® has invested in the NEXT-TT localization platform to manage and organise its expanding remote workflow infrastructure. NEXT-TT is a powerful collaborative hybrid platform which combines SubtitleNEXT software with comprehensive business management processing system Profuz LAPIS. NEXT-TT provides IT Pros with a formidable all-in-one versatile, timesaving, cost-effective solution, therefore equipping them with a highly efficient workhorse to manage teams of freelance translators, and with the bonus of immediate remote access to SubtitleNEXT’s proprietary tools, technologies, and delivery capabilities at the same time.

IT Pros has vast creative experience working with a number of VOD and online content providers, filmmakers, directors, post-production studios, and larger subtitling companies, offering services that include multilingual subtitling, SDH subtitling, AV, subtitle translation services, dubbing, voiceover, subtitle permanent embedding into HD digital files and much more.

Having adopted the SubtitleNEXT application back in 2018, IT Pros was already familiar with the software and ahead of the curve by offering the very first remote SubtitleNEXT online training course long before the pandemic even began. More recently, after exploring various innovative and business management systems that could meet their specific and complex growing requirements, they chose NEXT-TT as the most reliable and extensive system on the market. It was a logical next step for IT Pros to embrace NEXT-TT and be able to virtually connect to the industry’s most inclusive localization platform that would be able meet high standards of performance and delivery that IT Pros clients demand.

IT Pros Subtitler and Translator Monica Paolillo affirms, “We are absolutely delighted with our recent investment in NEXT-TT, which is an SSL secure on-premises based subtitling platform. It gives us the peace of mind that all our content is handled and subtitled securely and confidentially without ever leaving our in-house server. The NEXT-TT system was professionally supplied and installed by PBT EU and is developed by Profuz Digital – they are also the developers of SubtitleNEXT which is, in our opinion, the best subtitling software available on the market right now and great value for money.”

The advantages NEXT-TT commands are unparalleled to other localisation platforms by providing full automation, template proficiency, artificial intelligence in combination with SubtitleNEXT’s user-friendly, innovative, customisable, intuitive, and affordable timed-text software platform. In addition to its remote work capabilities, the NEXT-TT solution supports unlimited users and provides configurable workflows, including the ability to import BPMN workflows. It boasts advanced project management tools that are packed with endless options and settings for customising tasks and project metadata. The platform’s unique hybrid approach to subtitling tools includes a simplified online subtitles editor for translators; and offers advanced subtitling toolsets through integration with SubtitleNEXT. Other highlights include NEXT-TT’s advanced management of video content including watermarking and encryption to secure the highest levels of protection and security for localization service providers. The software interface is available to customers with their own branding and company logo integrated along with the added option to choose in-house hosting or to use a public or private cloud service provider.

Monica points out a few of the many advantages the team at IT Pros are already benefitting from by using NEXT-TT, “Over the past few months, selected projects have been handled within this protected environment where clients can upload and download their files, freelancers can log into the platform and securely transcribe, translate, subtitle from their home office using SubtitleNEXT’s powerful features without downloading or moving files from our server. Our QC team can finalise projects as and when they are ready in a fast-paced, but rewarding, subtitling supply chain. During the subtitling process, all content is watermarked and converted to low res to add an extra layer of security. It’s been a worthwhile transition.”

PBT EU’s CEO Ivanka Vassileva states, “We feel confident that our NEXT-TT solution provides localization companies with a collaborative and reliable platform that solves security and management challenges. Conveniently, the system tackles a plethora of organisational concerns all under one roof. These include content copyrights protection, the entire supply chain management, project management, task planning, translation, QC, and delivery. It even takes remote working into consideration. In addition, we offer our clients the option to customise the system to meet their unique working processes in tune with their organisational structure. We also provide exciting opportunities and incentives to suit all budgets, by offering several licensing packages that cater for small, medium and large enterprises, effectively optimising processes of smaller companies with the same innovative toolsets that larger organisations enjoy.”

Adding further, Ivanka notes, “We cherish our special partnership with IT Pros and are proud to cooperate with world class professionals like them in order to provide to the market a product that fits real users’ expectations. They are early adopters of our technology solutions and we are incredibly appreciative of the role they have played in adding so much value to the growth of our products over the last five years by incorporating invaluable feedback and suggestions. We continue to support them in their ongoing success.”

IABM member PBT EU reveals revenue-boosting solutions at NAB 2019

IABM member PBT EU reveals revenue-boosting solutions at NAB 2019

PBT EU’s vast range of customized Playout solutions with Subtitling platforms opens Localization opportunities for Broadcasters, Content Owners and LSPs

8 – 11 April  –  NAB 2019, Las Vegas Convention Centre, Las Vegas, Nevada, US

IABM member PBT EU’s Managing Partner and Sales Director, Alexander Stoyanov will be attending NAB again this year in Las Vegas.  Apart from meeting with customers and partners at the show, plans to explore current needs, projects implementations, finding strategies to help professionals adapt to the industry’s arising challenges will be on the agenda, as well as keeping abreast of technological trends.

After successive growth, PBT EU continues to provide a wide range of advanced end-to-end turnkey playout solutions including their own EXEcutor™ brand of broadcast servers using PlayBox NEO technologies. Furthermore, PBT EU’s EXEcutor™ Media Integrator module serves as an essential extension expanding the “Channel-In-A-Box” bundle, making it future-ready and highly adaptable for all production environments.

In addition to PBT EU’s renown and proven broadcast solutions, already widely adopted by broadcasters across Europe, the company also offers its popular line of subtitling revenue-boosting timed-text products – SubtitleNEXT™ and NEXT-TT™ that have taken off in leaps and bounds over the past year. Fortunately, expedient systems like PBT EU’s timed-text services incorporate customer-driven development and allow for integration into collaborative systems within broadcast workflows. PBT EU’s platforms support all media from streaming, custom-protected content for multipurpose services, graphics for television, cinema, web, customisable UIs and more.

NEXT-TT launched last NAB and combines captioning/subtitling software SubtitleNEXT with business processing system LAPIS. This unique hybrid design gives users greater freedom of choice on the desktop and in the Cloud. It enables efficient generation, at blistering speed, of timed-text, dubbing and localization services of all content imaginable. It can be used to manage teams of translators, audio-visual professionals, and creative freelancers, and provides a secure workspace with toolsets that deliver reliable high-quality results. (More here https://profuzdigital.com/lapis-features/)

“We want to make broadcasters aware that they could be using subtitles to reach a much wider audience and extend their services to make them more accessible to a larger customer-base. In parallel, they can facilitate content and localization providers in their pursuit of faster and more efficient delivery of material to the distribution networks. Both are consumer driven industries after all.” Alexander notes.

Subtitling is advantageous for broadcasters’ audiences. Timed-text software is a much wider investment and not restricted to subtitling functions alone. Many of the technological innovations in subtitling have come through modules that now support universal subtitle format transcoding and real-time live content. SubtitleNEXT and NEXT-TT provide immense added value to PBT EU’s existing range of broadcast services, for an industry in a rapid state of transition.

“I will be here to represent PBT EU and engage with broadcasters, content owners, post-production and production companies, localization organisations and Language Services Professionals at NAB. I am passionate to discuss how PBT EU’s customised broadcast solutions enhance facilities with viable end-to-end solutions. Subtitling and content accessibility tools, and how NEXT-TT and SubtitleNEXT can help businesses shift a gear, especially with significant product developments introduced this past year, will also be an exciting topic of discussion.”  Alexander confirms.

As people and devices continue to become more inter-connected, professionally and socially, subtitles or timed-text services have become a valuable commodity. Following recent government legislation enforcing delivery of subtitling services to linear TV, OTT and online channels, broadcasters are under pressure to migrate to efficient, affordable timed-text systems. Recent research also indicates many people view video without sound, whether on phones, laptops, iPads or other screens, often outnumbering traditional television viewers. This trend calls for further subtitling especially among younger generations where it can serve to pull community groups together.

On the post-production side, most editing software still contains fairly basic subtitling functions and is inefficient for editors to take on subtitling roles alongside editing. Running standalone subtitling platforms, specialized in the full process, produces better time-saving results. Like most aspects of broadcasting, deadlines, multiple versioning and last-minute corrections govern timed-texts, therefore, complex assignments need straightforward, automated, fast handling.

Live events are another niche market where timed-text services are showing potential. Live production will continue growing to a standalone industry due to the particularities and specific challenges it represents – an emerging market that the SubtitleNEXT team have already planned ahead for.

SubtitleNEXT and NEXT-TT have already caught the eye of many European higher education institutions such as colleges, universities and The European School of Translation, incorporating them as part of their curricula.  Even the Benelux region’s largest production company Videohouse has adopted SubtitleNEXT. Recently SubtitleNEXT was branded official Silver sponsor product of The Languages and the Media Berlin Conference including the upcoming Media for All International Conference in Stockholm, alongside major industry players such as Netflix, OOONA and Lingsoft. A dedicated member site NEXTClub connecting user groups globally, offers an online gathering space, freely accessible to everyone who registers. Exciting zones to explore in the NEXTClub lounge include NEXTblog, NEXTnews, NEXTtips, NEXTacademy, NEXTcommunity and NEXTmembership which can be accessed at https://subtitlenext.com/club/

SubtitleNEXT is the Tool of Choice for European School of Translation’s audio-visual courses

SubtitleNEXT is the Tool of Choice for European School of Translation’s audio-visual courses

PBT EU and EST partner to provide the best learning opportunities to subtitling professionals of the future

When professionals with a passion meet, they share ideas that spark innovation. This happened recently at The Languages & The Media 2018 Conference in Berlin, when Valeria Cervetti, head teacher and director of the Audio-visual Translation courses at the European School of Translation (EST) met PBT EU’s Sales and Product Specialist Maria Markovska.

Valeria was looking for a user-friendly, reliable and professional software tool for her subtitling students, an application that could help them take their first steps, and then provide a lasting solution for their professional career requirements. She had been using PBT EU’s SubtitleNEXT solution for some time and was convinced it was the right answer for her training needs.

PBT EU’s COO and Managing Partner Ivanka Vassileva and her team, on the other hand, were looking for a training school to partner with, to introduce young professionals to the world of subtitling with PBT EU’s SubtitleNEXT educational version, a fully-featured edition of their flagship software.

It was a marriage made in heaven: – EST and PBT EU decided to sign a partnership agreement in which PBT EU would provide free educational licences for EST students throughout 2018 as well as a 30% discount on the purchase of any version of SubtitleNEXT. The educational licence (fully functional except for imports/exports limited to 20-25 subtitles) covers installations for both Mac and Windows OS users.

EST will become a certified SubtitleNEXT teaching institution at the SN Academy, thus helping to promote the use of this simple, yet powerful professional tool for the audio-visual industry.

“We are honoured to partner with PBT EU and very excited to start this joint venture,” commented Andrea Spila, Director of Studies at EST. “We are sure that our students will greatly benefit by using SubtitleNEXT during our courses and that they will be fully equipped subtitlers when they enter the industry.”

“We are delighted to join hands with the European School of Translation and look forward to a close long-term relationship with them. This collaboration is a natural step forward in bringing greater value to enhancing the careers of trainee subtitlers and translators. The European School of Translation are renown for equipping professionals of the future with the best credentials including knowing how to use the latest innovation in their field such as SubtitleNEXT. We feel very proud and excited to see our SubtitleNEXT software well-placed in a respected educational organisation like the European School of Translation, where it can help to serve future generations.” PBT EU’s Sales and Product Specialist Maria Markovska confirmed.

SubtitleNEXT is a user-friendly, innovative timed-text software platform, designed for personal and professional use. Used throughout the entire video production process from concept to distribution, it simplifies processes throughout the entire work cycle. Fully customizable and intuitive, it delivers quality results with accuracy and speed: it is therefore an ideal solution for both students and junior or senior professionals, requiring a fully-fledged tool to meet their most demanding challenges. Already adopted across various multimedia industries, it easily adapts to any settings, resolutions, and formats across online video, TV, film, theatre, concerts, festivals, conferences and events. It can be applied throughout the entire production process from concept to distribution. https://subtitlenext.com/product-line/platform/

The European School of Translation was the first Italian school to offer online training courses for translators. Founded in 2009, EST has trained professionals of all ages, focusing on technological and entrepreneurial skill development, as well as on translation skills. In 2017, EST launched a learning path for training audio-visual industry language experts; the courses are directed by Valeria Cervetti, a senior subtitling, dubbing and adaptation consultant, as well as founder of Terzarima, together with Arianna Farabollini, also a trainer on the course. EST was founded by AlfaBeta, a Rome-based language service provider and web consultancy specializing in multilingual web solutions.
